| American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) - Founded in 1911, The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) is the oldest professional safety organization. Its more than 33,000 members manage, supervise and consult on safety, health, and environmental issues in industry, insurance, government and education. The goal of this liaison is to facilitate communication between NHCA and ASSE on issues related to noise exposure and hearing loss prevention. |

| American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) - The goal of this liaison is to provide a link between NHCA and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) on issues of mutual interest to both organizations. Hearing loss prevention is a special focus within ASHA, managed by its Special Interest Group 8 on Public Health Issues Related to Hearing and Balance. SIG 8 sponsors educational events, publishes an annual journal on relevant clinical and research issues, provides networking opportunities for professionals interested in the public health aspects of audiology, and advises the organization on policy and other issues related to public health. The ASHA liaison to NHCA serves as a link between the two organizations and shares information of interest in both directions. |

| Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO) - Members of ARO include scientists, engineers and physicians who seek to understand how the ear and the brain process sound and control balance, determine the causes of diseases and disorders of these sensory systems, and devise new surgical, technological or biological treatments to improve patients’ lives. The liaison provides a link to the ARO and shares information between the two organizations. |

| Audiology Quality Consortium (AQC) - AQC’s mission is to collaborate on the development of audiology quality measures for use in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and with other health care payers, to monitor the status of audiology quality measures for reporting under MIPS and other health care payers, to respond to proposed rules and measure changes by CMS and other measure owners on behalf of the audiology community, and to educate audiologists regarding audiology quality reporting and MIPS requirements. The liaison provides a link to the AQC and shares information between the two organizations. |

| Dangerous Decibels - The Dangerous Decibels project is a public health campaign designed to reduce the incidence and prevalence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) and tinnitus (ringing in the ear) by changing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of school-aged children. |

| Safe in Sound - In 2007, The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) partnered with NHCA to create an award for Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention. This award is called the Safe-In-Sound Award. In 2018, the partnership was extended to include the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). |
