About The Foundation

The NHCA Scholarship Foundation (a tax-exempt organization – 501c3) provides scholarship awards to graduate, post-doctoral and residency students focusing on applied/practical studies in hearing loss prevention/hearing conservation who are enrolled at regionally accredited institutions/agencies. The Foundation fulfills this mission by awarding Student Research Awards and Student Conference Awards.

The Foundation is managed by six voting officers. To view the current officers please click here. A Review Committee consisting of Foundation Board members and/or other NHCA volunteers evaluates the applications and decides who will receive the available scholarships. The same process is used for travel awards to the national convention.

This is an excellent investment in the future hearing health professionals pursuing studies in hearing loss prevent/hearing conservation. Donors are encouraged and welcomed to give a tax deductible contribution to the Foundation.

Student Testimonial:
I would like to take a moment to thank the NCHA Scholarship Foundation and the generosity of all NHCA member donors for funding student scholarships, including the 2015 Student Research Award, which I received at the 2016 annual conference in San Diego.

I am a current 4th year doctoral student in audiology at The University of Texas at Dallas. As a student, it is easy to feel as though your efforts may be invisible to individuals outside of your own academic institution. Because of this, attending conferences, such as the NHCA annual conference, affords students opportunities to demonstrate our drive to become future leaders in hearing health and hearing loss prevention. Without the generosity of donors and the NHCA Scholarship Foundation many students, myself included, would not have the opportunity to meet the leaders in hearing conservation who so many of us admire and hope to emulate. For this, I am very grateful.

I feel fortunate to have received the 2015 Student Research Award and look forward to seeing everyone in San Antonio in 2017.
